Medicaid
Milliman Care Guidelines® products are developed and supported by healthcare professionals with extensive Medicaid experience. More than 1,900 clients use the Care Guidelines®, including managed Medicaid plans, state Medicaid plans and Quality Improvement Organizations. The Care Guidelines® address many of the healthcare issues seen among Medicaid populations:
- Special needs of mothers and children Care Guidelines® products include pediatric guidelines and information on children with special needs, prematurity, vaccinations, well-child care, obstetrics and more.
- Chronic conditions and patient materials -- The Chronic Care Guidelines product covers 24 chronic conditions, such as diabetes, HIV/AIDS and high-risk pregnancy, and includes patient education materials written at a fourth-grade reading level in English or Spanish.
- Psychosocial factors Specific tools and assessments address factors that may affect the patient's recovery, including home safety, coping and cognitive abilities, cultural influences, socioeconomic status, and more.
- Behavioral health The Behavioral Health Guidelines product covers five levels of care and specific psychological, behavioral, and pharmacologic therapies for 15 diagnosis groups, including ADD, schizophrenia, and substance abuse.
- Complex cases The General Recovery Guidelines product helps manage cases when there is no clear diagnosis, no specific guideline covering the diagnosis, or when the clinical situation is so complex that a specific guideline doesn't fit.
