Regional Seminars: Train the Trainer

Train the Trainer is a two-day session for healthcare professionals who will teach in-house staff to use Inpatient and Surgical Care and General Recovery Guidelines. It will equip experienced Milliman Care Guidelines ® users to transfer their knowledge and to expand effective use of the Care Guidelines within their own organizations.

Contact Hours – 11.5 (Day 1 – 6.5; Day 2 - 5.0)

Train the Trainer is for you if:

  • You are responsible for providing clinical training
  • You are providing training on the Care Guidelines and want to ensure you are delivering an optimal program

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of day one of this training session, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify clinical guideline training resources
  2. Define a basic Instructional Design training process
  3. Identify key adult learning needs
  4. Develop action-based learning objectives
  5. Develop training evaluations

At the conclusion of day two of this training session, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify key presentation skills to support positive delivery of training material
  2. Demonstrate the ability to teach others basic care management workflows
  3. Develop basic job aids

 

Through group discussion, role playing, and hands-on practice, you will:

  • Review adult learning styles and learn techniques to address these styles
  • Review a basic Instructional Design model
  • Review critical training plan components – needs assessment, learning objectives, training material development and evaluation processes
  • Review key components within the Care Guidelines to identify implications for training
  • Write effective learning objectives
  • Write pertinent training evaluation questions
  • Examine key presentation skills and features that support positive training delivery
  • Demonstrate how to train on the Care Guidelines

Train the Trainer Pre-requisites:

  • Actively licensed Care Guidelines user
  • Graduate from a Milliman Basic Training Regional Seminar, or
  • Trained by a Milliman Trainer, onsite or via the web, within the past two years
