CareWebQI^® Version 1.9

Milliman Care Guidelines will release CareWebQI^® Version 1.9 in August 2009. This version includes several new system enhancements and optional features. For our Milliman Care Guidelines Strategic Alliance Partner community, the new CareWebQI v.1.9 features will not only benefit our mutual clients, but will also make the API transactions more flexible and scalable.

How will CareWebQI Version 1.9 Impact Integrated Solutions with Prior Versions of CareWebQI?

Milliman Care Guidelines is very sensitive to our Strategic Alliance Partners' interface design and development and therefore all API updates are backwards compatible and do not warrant new development to existing interface with prior versions of CareWebQI.

If your solution was certified for a prior CareWebQI version, you must re-certify your solution for CareWebQI v.1.9 within six months of the software release. You can re-certify your solution by submitting an addendum to your original Validation Report that verifies the interface functions as expected, and then scheduling and holding a validation demo.

What's New in CareWebQI v.1.9 API?

CareWebQI v.1.9 application programming interface includes (1) improved interfacing capabilities that can significantly reduce programming time for new interface development through use of the "configurable episode summary feature", and (2) improvements to end user workflow involving the ability to pass in requested and or actual admission dates.

Recommendations for taking advantage of the new features available in CareWebQI 1.9

• If your interface takes back the episode summary entirely, we recommend adopting the configurable episode summary feature. This feature includes a new data transform .xslt that will honor episode configuration settings to bring back select data only as determined by your individual clients.
• If your medical management system has a requested admit date field, we recommend mapping your field to the new requested admit date field in CareWebQI.
