Milliman Care Guidelines Welcomes Prestigious New Client

SEATTLE – September 6, 2006 – Milliman Care Guidelines, LLC, a Milliman Company, announced today that Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota has chosen to license several of its evidence-based clinical guideline products.

Mayo Clinic will access the annually-updated Inpatient and Surgical Care, General Recovery Guidelines, and Recovery Facility Care through Milliman’s Web format, which enables streamlined navigation and gives users easy access to annotated bibliographies, references and footnotes.

“We’re very pleased to add Mayo Clinic to the hundreds of facilities utilizing the Milliman Care Guidelines®. Mayo Clinic is internationally-known for its innovation and leadership in the field of evidence-based medicine and quality care – we’re proud to call them a client,” said Scott Harris, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Milliman Care Guidelines.

The Milliman Care Guidelines are clinical decision support tools used for treating specific patient conditions with appropriate levels of care and optimal progression toward discharge or transition. The Care Guidelines are written and reviewed by experienced physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to describe current best medical practice, recognizing that the unique circumstances of the patient should guide medical decisions. These clinical tools provide up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge, enabling more informed, consistent decisions and promoting the best possible care management, while maximizing efficiency in the use of healthcare resources.
