Morrisey Associates Works With Milliman Care Guidelines to Improve Care Management Capabilities

CHICAGO, May 11 - Morrisey Associates has integrated Milliman Care Guidelines CareWebQI® Version 2.0 software with its Morrisey Concurrent Care Manager™ (MCCM™) software. CareWebQI is interactive point-and-click software that provides access to the Milliman Care Guidelines®. It allows healthcare organizations to capture and report on real-time clinical data, measure healthcare performance against national quality standards, track variances from best practices and identify inappropriate care.

"Building the Care Guidelines into MCCM provides seamless integration between the two applications, making it easier than ever for MCCM customers to facilitate patient care decisions that are based on recognized clinical guidelines," says Jim Nutter, president of Morrisey. "We are excited to be able to provide our customers with this functionality."

The guidelines are updated annually and span the continuum of care, including chronic care and behavioral health management. Providing much more than authorization criteria, they drive high-quality care through such tools as care pathway tables, flagged quality measures and integrated medical evidence.

"Access to evidence-based clinical guidelines and tools that improve the quality of care enables Morrisey customers to effectively manage their review processes and quality initiatives," says Lynn Nemiccolo, vice president of product management for Milliman Care Guidelines. "We are glad to be able to partner with Morrisey in our mutual goal of helping healthcare organizations achieve best practices across the spectrum of care."
