Marlese Pinney
Vice President Customer Services
Ms. Pinney is a Principal and Vice President Customer Services for Milliman Care Guidelines. Her responsibilities include oversight of Client Services, Clinical Training, Project Management and Technical Support Services. She began her association with Milliman in 1990.
Ms. Pinney has been involved in healthcare since 1972, with an extensive background in acute care nursing, medical management systems and case management programs in both hospital and health plan settings. She has developed and implemented integrated patient care management programs focused on utilization, discharge planning, transitions in care, quality improvement and outcomes measurements.
Prior to joining Milliman, Ms. Pinney worked for large insurance carriers and government contractors developing HMO and PPO products. She has been a consultant to carriers, third-party administrators, medical groups and hospitals.
Ms. Pinney has been associated with the Milliman Care Guidelines® since their introduction in 1984. She served as a co-author of the Home Care product and Case Management content. Additionally, Ms. Pinney contributed to the patient education and advocacy content within the Care Guidelines.
Ms. Pinney graduated from the University of San Diego with a B.S. in nursing. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration from San Diego State University. Marlese has been elected to Who’s Who in Young Executives of America and Who’s Who in American Nursing.
