Q: Have the Doyle Award judges been asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement?

The Doyle Award judges represent industry organizations, none of which would be considered competitors of our clients. In addition, applicant organization names will be blinded to the judges. We feel that these two steps will assure confidentiality for applicants. Judges have not been asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

Press Release

Dr. Richard L. Doyle was the originator of the Milliman Care Guidelines. Dr. Doyle was Chief-of-Staff at Mercy Hospital in San Diego in the 1980s when he began the visionary creation of clinical guidelines designed to help improve hospital efficiency and quality performance. Dr. Doyle joined Milliman (then Milliman & Robertson) and the first set of the Healthcare Management Guidelines was published in 1990. Since then, the Care Guidelines have developed into seven distinct clinical products which are accessed through a variety of software options. They are now used to support the care management of more than one in three Americans. We are pleased to name this award in honor of Dr. Doyle.
