POSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Analyst will be a part of the Finance team and perform a variety of financial analyses and assist in business planning using multiple software tools and analytical techniques. Primary responsibilities include revenue, sales, and business analysis; financial data maintenance, and deliverables preparation associated with finance, sales, and new initiatives. Activities include monthly recurring analyses, ad hoc analysis, forecasting, and annual planning.
Milliman Care Guidelines Major Responsibilities
- Support Sales and Product Development as a business partner and provide advice, insight, objective viewpoint and strategic thinking to drive business success.
- Provide revenue and expense forecasts and analyze monthly variances between actual results, current estimate, plan, and prior year.
- Provide product forecasting and analysis support/advice to achieve planned financial performance.
- Analyze product pricing to quantify projected impact on volume and margins.
- Assist with monthly budget tracking and trend analysis.
- Develop/implement necessary processes to support internal forecasting/reporting requirements.
- Provide management with data regarding potential opportunities and risks to revenue and profit.
- Assist in the analysis/preparation of the strategic and annual operating plan process.
- Assist in the month-end financial close and financial report preparation.
- Identify and implement areas for improvement or process standardization across functional areas.
- Identify and implement systematic solutions to improve accessibility and usefulness of data.
- Recommend and implement department policies, procedures and reporting metrics to ensure objective, actionable and reliable data are available for management decisions.
Experience Required:
- Minimum two years in a financial analysis role
- Advanced Excel skills including familiarity with complex formulas and operations
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience with databases and related reporting
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Salesforce strongly preferred
- Experience in healthcare industry desired
- Familiarity with risk analysis a plus
- High degree of confidentiality
- Proven ability to work in a high-energy, high-pressure environment
- Self-motivated and focused
Education or Training: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
